Rockstar faces a Glasgow tribunal over GTA VI Discord firings
Thirty-one workers fired in October 2025 say it was union-busting. The full hearing starts 10 September.
Rockstar Games is due before a Glasgow employment tribunal from 10 September through mid-October over the October 2025 dismissal of 31 workers tied to Grand Theft Auto VI, London Insider and earlier PC Gamer reporting say.
The Independent Workers Union of Great Britain is bringing the case. The union says the workers were targeted for union activity, fired without a proper process, and that Rockstar compiled lists amounting to blacklisting. Rockstar has said the staff were dismissed for gross misconduct after confidential game details, including an unannounced online mode, were shared in a private Discord channel.
In June, a tribunal judge refused Rockstar's bid to strike the blacklisting claims, so the full set of allegations will be heard. Protests followed the firings outside Take-Two and Rockstar offices. More than 200 Rockstar employees demanded reinstatement. UK politicians, including the Prime Minister, called the case deeply concerning.
The hearing window ends a little over a month before GTA VI's planned launch window in the PC Gamer timeline.
GTA VI is the biggest entertainment release on the calendar. A public tribunal about how Rockstar treats organisers lands in the same news cycle as marketing and leaks. For Indian players and the global games workforce, it is a labour story dressed as a blockbuster footnote.
