L&T took a ₹10,000-15,000 crore order to build India's largest AI factory, for a US cloud company

Larsen & Toubro said on Thursday it has a mega order, its term for ₹10,000 to ₹15,000 crore, to build what it calls India's largest single-cluster AI infrastructure for US cloud company Together AI. The site is L&T's Chennai data-centre campus under Vyoma.AI, executed by subsidiary LTN Compute, and it is meant to host 10,000 Nvidia B300 GPUs for training, fine-tuning, and inference. The campus is planned as a gigawatt-scale site. Phase one is designed for 250 MW, with 150 MVA of power infrastructure ready. Chairman S N Subrahmanyan called it part of L&T's Gigawatt AI Infrastructure Mission. Together AI CEO Vipul Ved Prakash said the partnership was about bringing that build-out to India. Reuters put the order at up to 150 billion rupees, about $1.57 billion.

This is an infrastructure story wearing an AI headline. Ten thousand B300s in Chennai is L&T saying it wants to be in the factory business, not just the construction business, and it is also India trying to be a place where other people's models get trained. I read the ₹10,000-15,000 crore band the way L&T wants you to: large enough to move the stock, vague enough that the real margin is still a private number. The interesting test is power and delivery, not the press release.
