Irumudi holds in week two and clears a 100-crore ROI mark

Ravi Teja's Telugu family drama Irumudi is still collecting in its second week. Trade trackers put the second Monday (day 11) around ₹6.15 to ₹6.6 crore India net. India net totals in those reports sit near ₹135 to ₹136 crore, with worldwide gross near ₹179 crore.

Koimoi said the film, made on about ₹35 crore, has posted more than ₹100 crore in return on investment from Indian box-office earnings, calling it the first Telugu film of 2026 to clear that ROI mark on its parameters.

Irumudi opened on 21 August under director Shiva Nirvana. It stars Priya Bhavani Shankar, Sai Kumar, and Baby Nakshathra among others. Word of mouth has kept weekday shows alive even after Yash's Toxic arrived on 26 August.

Toxic opened enormous, then slowed. Sacnilk figures cited in reports put its India net near ₹221 crore after a sharp first-Monday drop, with worldwide gross over ₹300 crore in some tallies. Mixed and negative reactions have weighed on its hold compared with the opening blast.

Big openings still dominate the conversation. Irumudi is the quieter story: a mid-budget family film that keeps selling tickets after the first weekend and pays the producer back fast.

Toxic remains the scale play. Its drop does not erase the opening, but it does show how quickly a giant title can lose weekday heat when audiences argue with the film.

Irumudi needs steady weekdays if worldwide ₹200 crore is realistic. Toxic's next weekends will decide whether it settles as a big but soft hold or finds a second wind.
