Hanuman Ansh pushes past Rs 100 crore gross
The low-budget Neem Karoli Baba drama crossed the India gross century on Day 30. India net is still climbing toward the same line.
Hanuman Ansh crossed Rs 100 crore in India gross on Day 30, Sacnilk reported on Saturday. Live Day 30 tallies also put India net in the high Rs 80s to about Rs 90 crore range as evening numbers came in, depending on the tracker cut.
The film opened on 7 August on a reported budget near Rs 2 crore. Week one was about Rs 1.08 crore net. Week two was thin. Week three jumped. Week four exploded, with a Rs 12.75 crore fourth Sunday that this paper already covered.
On Day 29, Sacnilk had India gross near Rs 97.77 crore and India net near Rs 82.88 crore after a Rs 10 crore Friday. Day 30 then pushed gross over the round number while the film still traded punches with Mirzapur: The Movie in hourly ticket sales on BookMyShow, per Sacnilk's live note.
Vishal Chaturvedi directed. Shobhinaw Satyaa leads. It is a Hindi spiritual drama tied to Neem Karoli Baba.
A film that barely registered for two weeks is now posting fifth-week days against a franchise opener. That is rare at this scale.
Word of mouth did what the marketing budget could not. Show counts rose late. The fourth-week haul alone was about Rs 61 crore net on Sacnilk's weekly cut.
For Hindi cinema, the story is content finding a public without a star machine. The next round number everyone is watching is Rs 100 crore India net.
The fifth Sunday will show if the gross century holds into a net century. OTT timing is still unannounced in the Sacnilk listing. Mirzapur's opening weekend is the main screen rival this week.
