Crusoe raises $3 billion at a $30 billion valuation
Atreides and Valor co-led the round for the AI data-centre builder.
Crusoe, the AI cloud and data-centre company that counts OpenAI, Microsoft and Meta among its customers, has raised more than $3 billion in a round that values it at about $30 billion, Bloomberg reported on Thursday, citing people familiar with the matter.
Atreides Management and Valor Equity Partners co-led the financing. Mubadala Capital, the alternative-asset arm of Abu Dhabi's Mubadala, is also participating, those people said. The company has not publicly confirmed the terms.
The raise comes about ten months after a $1.38 billion Series E that valued Crusoe above $10 billion. TechCrunch, citing Bloomberg, also noted a recent roughly $13 billion, five-year cloud contract to supply Jane Street with GPUs and AI infrastructure.
Crusoe started in 2018 mining crypto on flared gas. It has since become a builder of hyperscale campuses for AI compute. Axios reported last month that the firm had met bankers, including Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley, about a possible near-term IPO.
Private money is still pouring into the companies that own power, land and chips for large models. A jump from about $10 billion to $30 billion in under a year shows how fast that market is repricing infrastructure names.
For India readers, the story sits next to the same AI buildout that is pulling capital, energy policy and cloud contracts worldwide. Crusoe is one more large private bet that the bottleneck is capacity, not demand.
Watch for an official company statement on the round, and whether the Jane Street contract and IPO chatter harden into filings. Until then, the Bloomberg account is the best public guide to the size and lead investors.
